PERMANENT One (1) Part-time - 19.75
POSITION:	Safety Officer
TYPE:	Part-time position works three (3) days a week (Sat - Mon); 19.75 hrs total.
COMPENSATION:	Range 12; Schedule M; Step 1: $24.53 ï½ Step 5 $29.53 Hourly
TYPE OF RECRUITMENT:	This is a PROMOTIONAL and OPEN recruitment to establish an eligibility list and fill part-Time and full Time vacancies. The eligibility list will be used to fill vacancies that may occur during the life of the eligibility list. Per agreement with our classified bargaining unit laid-off CVUHSD classified employees have a preference for reemployment to any vacant position for which they are qualified and apply.In a promotional and open recruitment the promotional list shall take precedence. If the promotional list contains fewer than three eligible and willing ranks certification of additional ranks shall be made from the open list.
TESTING PROCEDURE:	The examination process will consist of a written examination and an oral technical interview. Applicants will be notified of their application status via email.
DESCRIPTION:	Under the direction of the Safety Supervisor provide support for the safety and welfare of personnel students facilities grounds policy classroom and non-classroom activities and District employees while on district grounds; respond to reports of vandalism burglary fire or other emergencies at various district facilities; patrol assigned campus buildings and grounds on foot or in a District vehicle; supports the instructional process with specific responsibilities for the safety and welfare of students while on school grounds; monitoring personnel and/or visitors; communicating information in response to inquiries; and enforcing the school and District rules and regulations pertaining to student academic behavior and drug prevention. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:	Education: Graduation from high school or passed the general educational development (GED) test indicating high school graduation level; Experience: One (1) year of security or law enforcement experience in an institution or public agency providing protection and enforcement of rules and regulations is desirable. Experience working with adolescents is highly desirable.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:	Possession of a valid California drivers license. CPR/First Aid Certification SB 1626 Certificate. Successful completion of SB 390 training and certification (Anyone employed on or after July 1 2021 must submit proof of training or the training can be completed through District training program upon employment (Senate Bill No. 390 Chapter 475).
