POSITION PURPOSE
Cleans and services internal and external premises tomaintainhospital in sanitaryattractiveand orderly condition in an assigned schedule and/or an assigned shift.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Maintains clean and aseptic conditions in assignedareaby vacuuming scouring dust mopping high dusting making beds removing trash/linen washing walls and ceilings.
Using vacuum and materials effectively in daily work.
Use detergents germicides or other supplies as recommended andfollowrecommended handling/mixing procedures.
Maintains a clean and neat station cartclosetand equipment.
Reports needed equipment repairs to the Supervisor.
Logs activities throughout work shift as required paperwork at the end of shift.
Collectssoiled linen ordistributesclean linen as needed.
Other duties as needed and assigned by the manager.
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal State and local laws and regulations Trinity Healths Organizational Integrity Program Standards of Conduct as well as other policies and proceduresin order toensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest ethical and professional behavior.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma preferred or high schoolequivalency.
Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative shared leadership environment.
Mustpossessa personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy mission vision goals and values of Trinity Health.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS:(Constant 67-100% of workday Frequent 34-66% of workday Occasional 33% or less of workday)
CONSTANT:
Walking: Moving about on foot toaccomplishtasks to perform cleaning duties.
Standing: With some freedom to alternate between standing and walking.
Stooping: Bending body downward and forward at the waist while cleaning emptying trashcans.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction; i.e. vacuuming dusting mopping.
Handling: Working primarily with the whole hand while scouring dusting obtaining supplies and handling equipment.
FREQUENT:
Pushing Pulling: To move supply cart with minimal sustained force.
Lifting: To move hideaway beds cots box trash trash bags linen bagsfrequentlyup to 20 lbs. And occasionallyin excess of50 lbs.
Climbing: Up to five flights of stairs often while wet-mopping use of ladders.
Kneeling or Crouching: With the freedom to choose which posture.
OCCASIONAL:
Talking: Expressing ideasby means ofthe spoken word to convey instructions to other workers either in person or by phone.
Hearing: Ability to perceive detailed information through oral communication with other workers either in person by phone using a beeper or responding to the hospital paging system.
PHYSICAL DEMAND REQUIREMENTS:
If a patient is unable to function independently a mechanical/assistive device and/oradditionalpersonnel must beutilized. If an object requires lifting > 50 must also beutilized.
Heavy work: Exerting up to 65 lbs. push/pull (force to move)frequently andlifting upto 50 lbs. occasionally andlifting upto 40 andlifting upto 20 lbs. constantly to move patient and/or objects.
VISUAL ACUITY REQUIREMENTS:
Normal visual acuityisrequiredtomaintainaccuracy and neatness of work.
INTELLECTUAL/EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability tomaintainsatisfactory job performance and a high standard of both courtesy and cooperation in dealing with co-workers patients and visitors despite the stress of a hospital work environment.
Ability to perform a variety of duties often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure
Must be able to set andorganize onesown workpriorities andadapt to them as they change be able to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles.
Mustpossessthe ability tocomply withTrinity Health policies and procedures.
Must be able to travel to the various Trinity Health sites as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The worker is subject to hazards: chemicals slippery floors working while on stepladders.
The worker is subject to atmosphere conditions: dustodorsand aerosol sprays.
