Position Overview:

Position provides ongoing technical and programming support for production machining processes on horizontal machining centers for aluminum components

Essential Functions:

  • Provide ongoing support for machining processes including:
    • CNC program/parameter adjustments
    • Process troubleshooting
    • Process optimization
  • Support manufacturing by determining appropriate tooling speeds and feeds for cutting tools used on machining centers
  • Maintain and provide technical support to maintenance personnel regarding machine control parameters
  • Assist in the identification and evaluation of new tooling applications
  • Perform arithmetic calculations & parametric programming
  • Write basic programs for 3 and 4 axis mills
  • Demonstrate programming processes and train entry-level programmers
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates degree (2-year Technical Degree) in CNC Programming or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of machining experience including operating machines and performing some set-ups
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of process planning.
  • Ability to develop multistage operations to ensure faster throughput reduced tooling costs greater machine utilization improved process planning and higher quality
  • Ability to participate in and advise on the design of rigid yet versatile fixtures
  • Ability to anticipate tool movement and clamping requirements needed to secure the workpiece
  • Ability to visualize part orientations in relation to machine tool limitations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with MasterCAM software for CNC program creation
  • 5 years of programming experience with a variety of CNC machines
  • Shop floor support experience including editing and program proveout
  • Experience with Mazak horizontal machining centers

The hiring range for this position is $54300 to $75400 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary based on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills relevant experience business needs and geographic location. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidates qualifications and the business context.

In addition to base pay this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
