Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate in a fast-paced team-oriented environment using a variety of databases and search tools to research and track security threat groups in SCDC.
  • Work independently or as part of a team or task force to gather information related to specific administrative investigations and disseminate the information in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Prepare and maintain correspondence and suspense files and prepare and maintain reports as directed.
  • Provide research analysis and technical support to assigned areas.
  • Receive document and research social media and inmate cell phone tips from outside sources within SCDC.
  • Prepare and present reports or analysis of various technical data as directed through the direction of the Director of the Division of Security or the Statewide STG Coordinator.

Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A bachelors degree and professional experience involving the collection analysis interpretation and presentation of quantified data. A masters degree in statistics may be substituted for the required work experience.



SCDC Minimum Requirements:
  • A bachelors degree and professional experience involving the collection analysis interpretation and presentation of quantified data.
  • A masters degree in statistics may be substitute for the required work experience.
  • Must obtain full function NCIC certification within six (6) months of hire into position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant analytical skills; ability to perform intelligence analysis and evaluate raw data from all sources to determine criminal activities.
  • Skilled in verbal and written communications.
  • Ability to identify and define problems coordinate analysis and resolution with numerous organizational elements; and follow security procedures for handling law-enforcement derived and departmental proprietary information.
