The Director of Emergency Services provides strategic operational and clinical leadership for the Emergency Department. This role ensures high-quality patient-centered care through oversight of department operations staffing budgeting and performance improvement initiatives. The Director fosters a culture of accountability collaboration and excellence while supporting organizational goals regulatory compliance and service line growth.
Lead evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety quality outcomes and regulatory compliance
Ensure adherence to standards of care legal and accreditation requirements
Monitor benchmarks and pursue continuous quality improvement initiatives
Oversee equipment readiness and compliance
Optimize patient throughput and care coordination
Direct nursing practice and emergency department operations
Drive an exceptional and consistent patient experience
Utilize patient feedback and satisfaction data to implement service improvements
Collaborate with interdisciplinary leaders to enhance patient-centered care
Build a high-performing engaged emergency services team
Lead talent development coaching and retention strategies
Foster a culture of accountability and collaboration
Partner with physicians and senior leadership to expand and enhance emergency services
Identify opportunities for service growth and innovation
Manage departmental budgets staffing models and productivity
Identify cost efficiencies and ensure effective labor management
Required:
Bachelors Degree (approved education plan acceptable)
Bachelors Degree in Nursing
Active RN license (Texas or compact eligible)
1 year of recent Director-level Emergency Department leadership experience
Strong ED Managers may be considered with demonstrated outcomes
3 years of recent Emergency Department clinical experience
Preferred:
Masters Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration
