Shift: 10:30 AM 11:00 PM
Hours: 36 hours per week
Schedule Requirements: Every 3rd weekend holidays as needed on-call required
Compensation:
Local: $2001 per week
Travel: $2452.95 per week
The Radiologic Technologist I performs diagnostic radiographic examinations with minimal supervision. This role is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety comfort and strict adherence to departmental regulatory and organizational standards.
Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations by accurately positioning patients utilizing immobilization devices and selecting appropriate technical factors.
Operate and select radiographic equipment required for specific diagnostic procedures.
Apply radiation safety principles including proper collimation and shielding to minimize patient exposure.
Conduct portable radiographic exams in patient rooms operating rooms and emergency departments.
Correctly identify and label all radiographic images with patient information exam number and anatomical side.
Process exposed images using approved imaging or film development methods.
Complete imaging requisitions accurately including technologist identification dates and image details.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of imaging rooms and equipment.
Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist physicians during procedures as needed.
Perform administrative duties such as scheduling patient instruction record maintenance image filing and reception.
Assist patients with positioning transfers and mobility based on individual physical needs.
Meet physical job requirements including standing for extended periods and lifting/pushing equipment as required.
Provide patient-centered care tailored to diverse populations accounting for age culture language and physical or sensory limitations.
Communicate effectively with patients families and caregivers at appropriate developmental and educational levels.
Comply with all organizational policies safety standards and competency requirements.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care hospital setting
Required experience includes:
Emergency Department
Trauma imaging
Operating Room (OR) procedures
Portable imaging
Pediatric radiography
Ability to work independently in high-acuity environments
High school diploma or equivalent
Graduation from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program
Completion of required clinical training and ARRT eligibility requirements
Valid New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist License (required)
Must be eligible for and successfully pass the ARRT certification exam
