About this Job




This position has sole responsibility for The New Orleans Jazz Museum that was awarded to a Federal Economic Development Administration grant.

The Louisiana State Museums collections and educational programs stimulate awareness and appreciation of our states rich and diverse history and culture.

An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:

Minimum Qualifications

Five years of experience in contracts or grants management procurement financial management or accounting; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in contracts or grants management procurement financial management or accounting; OR

A bachelors degree plus two years of experience in contracts or grants management procurement financial management or accounting; OR

An advanced degree in business or public administration finance economics or statistics plus one year of experience in contracts or grants management procurement financial management or accounting.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Prepares develops monitors and amends complex contracts and grant agreementsincluding applications budgets and sub-grantsin compliance with statutory regulatory and departmental requirements.

  • Coordinates with administration officials program staff contractors and sub-grantees to resolve contract issues and ensure effective communication and alignment.

  • Maintains official contract and grant records and prepares reports and correspondence for administrators the legislature media and the public on contract and grant status.

  • Reviews progress reports completion reports work products and financial documentation to ensure allowable costs adherence to schedules and compliance with terms and conditions.

  • Provides technical assistance and consultation to program personnel in the preparation of grant proposals contract agreements and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

  • Tracks contract and grant approval processes researches grant awards and state appropriations and verifies the availability of funds prior to execution.

  • Performs audit and fiscal oversight functions including analyzing compliance recommending approval or disapproval and completing accounting entries reconciliations and adjustments.


Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: This position will be filled as a part-time Classified WAE limited to 1245 working hours in a 12-month period. **Starting Hourly Pay varies depending on experience.**
Work Schedule: This position is a part-time position that will report in-office in New Orleans.
Location:This position is located at the State Museum.
