Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Application Support Engineer. In this role you will be responsible for providing technical support for a wide range of applications with a primary focus on databases SQL languages operating systems (Windows and Unix) API integration and web servers. As a member of our team you will have the opportunity to support and maintain various applications including those built Java and React frameworks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about application support and eager to develop their skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
What to Expect:
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving application issues ensuring optimal performance and availability.
Develop and execute SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from databases.
Monitor and maintain web servers and API integrations ensuring smooth functioning and responsiveness.
Collaborate with developers and cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
Document technical processes troubleshooting steps and best practices for future reference.
What We Are Looking For:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
Strong knowledge of databases and SQL languages (e.g. SQL Server Oracle MySQL).
Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows and Unix/Linux.
Proficiency in working with API integrations and web servers (e.g. IIS Apache Nginx).
Experience supporting applications built Java or React frameworks.
Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teams.
Bonus Points:
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud).
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell Bash Python).
Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP DNS HTTP).
