ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.- Study and compare sales histories projected sales totals special purchase allowances and current sales trends to make product buying decisions to maintain a 45-day inventory.
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws regulations and/or agency rules standards guidelines etc.
- Create purchase orders for both listed and specially ordered products.
- Coordinates and/or acts as a liaison between the agency or work unit and other agencies work units organizations suppliers etc.
- Create sales orders for special orders.
- Gathers data prepares reports or summarizes information.
- Reviews documents and reconciles discrepancies; makes needed adjustments.
- Maintains business relationships to foster a positive customer service experience.
- Maintains acceptable inventory levels keeping out-of-stock and overstocking products to a minimum.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE:- Knowledge of purchasing system software.
- Knowledge of governmental purchasing laws and codes contract preparation and development purchasing methods and procedures life-cycle costing principles value analysis and weighted-value methodology as used in evaluating purchasing bids and RFPs.
- Knowledge of procurement and/or administration of contracts grants loans or similar agreements.
- Knowledge of economic and market conditions.
- Knowledge of research methods techniques and/or sources of information.
- Knowledge of product lines and merchandise pricing techniques.
- Knowledge of bid quote and award procedures.
- Knowledge of principles theories and practices of purchasing goods and services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Bachelors Degree (typically in Finance)Experience:0-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Purchasing or Inventory) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Associate BuyerOREducation & ExperienceSubstitution:4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically inPurchasing or Inventory) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Associate BuyerCertificates Licenses Registrations:NoneNecessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:- Typical office environment.
