Summary:
-
Troubleshoot and repair aircraft structural and mechanical systems
-
Perform close-tolerance drilling reaming removal and installation on critical support structures and fracture-critical areas
-
Locate blind holes for installation of new structural components
-
Perform sealing painting shimming and preservation tasks per standard repair processes
-
Read and interpret engineering drawings technical orders process specifications and retrofit requirements
-
Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level structural modification and repair
-
Apply knowledge of aircraft mechanical troubleshooting and component replacement
-
Perform sheet metal and structural modifications and repairs
-
Utilize aircraft-specific tools and test equipment (torque wrenches micrometers dial indicators cable tensiometers sheet metal brakes shears etc.)
-
Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate parts and discrepancy requests
-
Maintain required certifications licenses and permits
-
Ensure compliance with Hazardous Energy and Lockout/Tagout procedures
-
Assist other disciplines (General Mechanics Avionics Electronics) to meet cost and schedule objectives
-
Comply with site tool control and FOD prevention procedures
-
Successfully pass required assessments at the end of the training cycle
Requirements:
-
Applicable education certifications or equivalent experience from an accredited institution are required
-
1 year of experience working with non-porous metals (aluminum titanium stainless steel)
-
1 year of experience interpreting schematics specifications assembly drawings and SOPs
-
1 year of experience using aircraft structures hand tools (e.g. 45 /90 drills pancake adapters countersink cages hole finders rivet guns)
-
Ability to work variable shifts including scheduled and unscheduled overtime weekends and holidays
-
Ascend and descend vertical ladders; work in confined spaces
-
Lift up to approximately 35 lbs (team lift required for loads over 50 lbs)
-
Work on elevated platforms and in high-noise environments
-
Use required personal protective equipment (face eye ear hand and arm protection)
-
Pass visual acuity and color perception testing
-
Read write and comprehend English
-
Handle use and dispose of hazardous materials properly
-
Obtain and maintain required training certifications
-
Perform frequent standing walking balancing reaching overhead bending stooping crawling squatting and climbing
-
Tolerate extended periods of head/neck rotation sitting and operating foot controls
-
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in heavy aircraft maintenance (Depot-level preferred)
-
Experience working with titanium aircraft structures
-
Ability to operate forklifts mobile cranes and powered elevating equipment
