Job title: Business Analyst Advanced (Onsite)
Duration of the Contract: 12 Months
Location: Columbia SC
Duties:
- Gather analyze and document business requirements rules and functional specifications for Government IT projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders project managers developers and end users to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Conduct requirement elicitation sessions including interviews workshops and document reviews.
- Develop and maintain Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs) and use cases.
- Support all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from planning and design through testing and implementation.
- Analyze existing systems and business processes to identify gaps risks and improvement opportunities.
- Assist in system design validation to ensure alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
- Write and execute SQL queries for data analysis validation and reporting purposes.
- Participate in system testing user acceptance testing (UAT) and defect resolution.
- Track project progress risks and issues using tools such as JIRA.
- Prepare project status reports presentations and documentation using Microsoft Office tools.
- Ensure compliance with government policies standards and security regulations.
- Support change management activities including impact analysis and stakeholder communication.
- Provide ongoing support and enhancements for implemented systems.
- Mentor junior analysts and promote best practices in business analysis.
Skills:
- A bachelors degree in computer science or a related area and experience in computer system development and modification. Relevant experience may substitute for the bachelors degree on a year-for-year basis.
- 5 years of experience with Government IT Projects as a Business Analyst or in related roles.
- 5 years of experience in eliciting analyzing and documenting business rules processes and requirements.
- 1 years of hands-on experience with the system development life cycle (SDLC).
- 1 years of experience with SQL database.
Preferred:
- International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA).
- Certification such as PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis)
- 1 years of experience using JIRA and Microsoft Office Products.
