Headquartered in Charlotte North Carolina Hayward also has facilities in Tennessee Arizona and Rhode Island as well as Canada Spain France Australia and China.This position is based in Clemmons NC.

This position is 2nd shift

Position Overview:

Provide administrative support and shop floor leadership for the Valve Business Unit under the direction of the Blow Molding Production Supervisor and/or Blow Molding Production Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and prioritizes all production activities for the assigned shift. Gives instructions to Operators Material Handlers and Process Technicians with regards to required tasks to be completed in the Valve Business Unit area
  • Has leadership ability and is responsible for 5S activities in the area
  • Plans and develops production schedules from daily schedule sheets as provided by the Planning Department
  • Updates information on visual production boards daily. (i.e Hr x Hr charts etc)
  • Reconciles production related information via the Daily Production Summary the Work Order Reconciliation Form and other documents as needed.
  • Interacts in a professional manner with employees from other Departments within the Plant and employees at other Hayward facilities.
  • Ensures that Standard Work Instructions are posted and accurate and ensures that all operators are following these instructions. Trains new and existing employees in proper methods of assembly of all products
  • Assigns Maintenance work orders and ensures that work orders are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that changeovers are handled promptly and that parts from the previous work order are not left in the production area. Works with the Material Handler to insure a smooth transition from one product SKU to the next.
  • Understands Bill of Materials (BOM) and is quality oriented. Completes First Piece Inspections and associated paperwork in conjunction with the Process Technicians.
  • Performs box audits and completes the daily Audit spreadsheet. Informs the Shift Supervisor when standards cannot be met.
  • Notifies the Department Manager and/or a Production Supervisor when employees on the assigned shift are not perfoming or behaving in an unacceptable manner. Will be involved in employee reviews and disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively with and before employees of organization.
  • Must be able to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Lean manufacturing experience is desirable.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) and a minimum of three years related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand and walk;
use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Safety glasses are required when on the plant floor.
