RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works with an intermediate degree of supervision and/or detailed procedures.
• Performs routine complex and occasionally highly complex assays in the Microbiology and Chemistry Lab (all activities must be performed in a safe accurate and efficient manner.)
• Performs other duties assigned including responsibilities in other areas of Research and Development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

• Basic lab skills including aseptic technique quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Strong math skills.
• Must be capable of standing for extended periods of time handle strong odors and may on occasion have to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must live within a commutable distance from Austin Minnesota (relocation/housing assistance not provided.)

Preferred

• Working toward a bachelors degree in a scientific discipline with lab experience.

At Hormel Foods base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $17.00 - $18.00 per hour and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge skill set level of experience and geographic market location.
