Position Summary
The Industrial Buyer is responsible for developing and managing a supplier base that supports company objectives related to quality cost delivery and production requirements. This role plays a critical part in supporting flexible manufacturing schedules and ensuring material availability through effective purchasing and supplier management practices.
Key Responsibilities
Manage purchase orders based on inventory levels and production demand using an integrated ERP system
Analyze ERP/MRP reports to ensure materials align with forecasted production needs
Review and process purchase requisitions to secure high-quality components at competitive pricing
Evaluate and manage supplier performance related to cost quality and delivery
Source and qualify new suppliers
Establish maintain and improve purchasing processes and procedures
Maintain accurate and organized purchasing documentation
Negotiate audit and manage freight terms and costs
Perform additional duties as assigned
Candidate Qualifications
Degree in Business Supply Chain Management or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience in a custom equipment manufacturing environment
Experience supporting flexible or variable production schedules
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Epicor 10 preferred)
Strong computer skills including Excel Word and Outlook
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Highly organized self-motivated and capable of working independently
Collaborative positive and team-oriented mindset
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
