Job Summary:
The Estimating Intern will assist the Cost Estimation team with proposal builds cost estimation and small business plan support. The intern will help create cost templates organize critical documents and collaborate on key projects. This internship provides hands-on experience in cost estimation and business plan preparation.
Essential Functions:
- Proposal Builds: Assist in the development of proposal builds ensuring accuracy and completeness of cost data.
- Proposal Audit Support: Support the team in gathering and organizing Basis of Estimate (BOE) documents from Plex for proposal audits.
- Small Business Plan Support: Help with administrative tasks related to the preparation and organization of small business plans.
- Certified Cost and Pricing Template Creation: Collaborate in the creation of a comprehensive Certified Cost and Pricing Template using Excel. This will require basic Excel skills and attention to detail.
- Template Development for Min Order Quantities: Work alongside the Cost Estimation team to build templates that calculate minimum order quantities.
- Packaging Cost Template: Assist in creating a template for packaging costs to be used in quote (cost) sheets.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Attention to Detail: Ability to manage and organize large sets of data with accuracy.
- Excel Skills: Basic proficiency in Excel for creating templates and organizing data.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to gather information and complete tasks.
- Collaboration: Work well in a team environment and assist colleagues with ongoing projects.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and propose effective solutions related to cost estimation and proposal builds.
Education & Experience
- Pursuing a bachelors degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High School Diploma or GED
Background Prerequisites:
Must undergo and meet company standards for background check employment verification reference checks physical and controlled substance testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clear and effective communication skills both written and verbal
- Experience with researching topics
- Previous employment with a focus on team-work
