Job Summary

Basic Job Functions

Lead gardening activities and develop and share garden-based education enrichment activities with the Garden Sprouts of the Childrens Gardening Program at the Edible Academy.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Lead a group of twelve children between three and five years old and their caregiver (ie: 12 three year old or 12 four year old children) through a series of gardening activities and garden-based enrichment activities over the course of season.

Develop and submit specific garden-based enrichment activities in advance of each session and complete review and reflection notes on completion of each session.

Lead Garden Sprouts through a series of planned gardening activities as they care for their assigned garden plots throughout each program season.

Assist with general horticultural tasks in the garden plots with the participants and maintain an organized work area including care of garden tools and enrichment activity supplies.

Qualifications

Applicant should have gardening and early childhood teaching experience an outgoing personality enthusiastic attitude and willingness to work with children and families.

Applicant should be able to lift heavy program materials and work outdoors for extended periods.

Two years related experience is required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Must be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather

Work Schedule

Temporary part time role expected to last till October

Saturday 8:30 AM- 1:30 PM

Rate

$22 per hour
