Job Summary
The Town of Cohasset is seeking a Recycling and Transfer Facility (RTF) Foreman to work for the towns Department of Public Works Recycling Transfer Facility
The RTF working foreman is responsible for technical supervision of operations within the recycling and transfer facility. The position is responsible for the management of records operations compacting transferring composting and recycling activities and collecting money for the town.
Minimum Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or an equivalent degree or experience. Must have a minimum of three to five years of experience in public works construction and maintenance activities or equivalent. CDL B and Hoisting License 2B are required. Valid DOT medical card. Must also have proven ability to supervise work crews handle complaints and deal with others tactfully and effectively perform work efficiently and safely and lift heavy objects while performing manual labor under adverse conditions
Knowledge of the following: The candidate must know practices procedures equipment tools materials and the effective utilization of personnel and equipment for public construction waste handling maintenance and repair functions. They should also be knowledgeable about waste handling systems and equipment.
Proven ability to do the following is required:
Supervise work crews
Handle complaints and deal with others tactfully and effectively
Perform work efficiently and safely
Lift heavy objects and perform manual labor under adverse conditions
This position is represented by a collective bargaining unit and is 40-hours per week Wednesday Sunday work week. Position may include rotating weekend coverage depending on operational needs.
Salary: $ 34.86 per hour PW-4 step 1 with annual performance-based step increases and cost-of-living (COLA); Cohasset offers a comprehensive benefits package.
