recruiting for full-timeCommunity Care Licensing Specialist 3 located in
Anchorage Alaska.**This position is currently undergoing review as a part of the ongoing Community Care Licensing Specialist job class study and therefore both the title and the pay range assigned may be subject to change upon the completion of the study.**
What You Will Be Doing
The Community Care Licensing Specialist 3 position provides supervision and guidance to a professional staff of supervisors relating to the oversight of the foster care licensing program and related child welfare issues personnel matters and budget issues. The role includes oversight of staff and operations across multiple regions requiring effective remote supervision and coordination. This position participates as a member of the Office of Childrens Services (OCS) regional management teams shaping policy and procedures.

Working Environment You Can ExpectThis position is located in our Anchorage regional office in midtown a central location to easily access all of Anchorage within a reasonable distance.

We Are Seeking a Candidate with the Following Competencies:- Performance Measurement:Knowledge of the principles and methods for evaluating program or organizational performance using financial and nonfinancial measures including identification of evaluation factors (for example workload personnel requirements) metrics and outcomes.
- Influencing/Negotiating: Persuades others; builds consensus through give and take; gains cooperation from others to obtain information and accomplish goals.
- Managing Human Resources: Plans distributes coordinates and monitors work assignments of others; evaluates work performance and provides feedback to others on their performance; ensures that staff are appropriately selected utilized and developed and that they are treated in a fair and equitable manner.
Special Note- This position requires a valid Alaska drivers license.
- Additionally while the Division does have vehicles assigned to it they may not always be available for staff use. Mileage reimbursement is available when a personal vehicle is used for work-related matters. Current automotive insurance must be in place prior to use of a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the State.
- A child protective history check will be performed per AS 12.62.160 and/or 13 AAC 68.315 including a background and fingerprint check.
- The successful candidate may be required to attend multiple training courses normally located in Anchorage.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:Training or education in social services education health care mental health juvenile justice or a closely related field;AND/OR progressively responsible professional experience in social services education health care mental health or juvenile justice; or supervising the licensing and certification functions related to health care facilities and programs or adult and child residential and community care programs; or supervising or managing social casework including adoption foster home care child protection and individual and family counseling; or supervising probation work; or supervising or managing health care providers services or programs.

Training and education in this guidance are synonyms for the process of acquiring knowledge and skills through instruction. It includes instruction through formal and informal methods (such as classroom on-line self-study and on-the-job) from accredited and unaccredited sources and long-duration (such as a post-secondary degree) and short-duration (such as a seminar) programs.Additional Required Information
