Training and Competence Supervisor

We have an exciting opportunity for a Training and Competence Supervisor to join our First Line Risk CCO team.

As Training and Competence Supervisor you will be accountable for the initial training of and then ongoing competence of Mortgage and Protection Advisors.

The Role

The main responsibilities include:

• Training trainee mortgage advisors through a structured course and with 1-1 support to enable them to be able to undertake an authorised mortgage advisor role.
• Ensuring the training delivered is designed in tangent with the T&C scheme is fit for purpose developing and adapting as needed to meet regulatory requirements and to support Lending policy and lending criteria.
• Being able to identify when a trainee mortgage advisor is competent to give advice and be responsible for sign off.
• Ensuring the ongoing competency of all MPAs by carrying out observations undertaking T&C file reviews carrying out competence reviews and monitoring CPD attainment.
• Identifying if someone is struggling to attain or maintain competency and take necessary supportive actions.
• Being responsible for quality assurance checks on mortgage applications
• Developing individual improvement and development plans as appropriate to address individual MPA needs.
• Understanding and awareness of the risk and control environment in your area of the business and adhere to processes and procedures in order to minimise risks.

About You

You will have the following key qualifiers:

• Working knowledge of residential mortgage lending
• Experience of delivering training to individuals/small groups.
• Hold CeMAP qualification
• Hold a clean UK driving licence

And the following key competencies:

• Strong communication skills written and verbal
• Ability to deliver training to small groups and on a 1-1 basis
• Be able to provide constructive feedback
• The ability to identify when a trainee has achieved competency
• The ability to identify if someone is struggling to attain or maintain competency
• To identify and provide recommendations on process and system improvements
• Effective time and diary management
• Be flexible in approach to working hours and location to facilitate observations on mortgage advisors across the branch network

Where you will work
