Role: Sr. Business Analyst

The Business Systems Analyst role intersects business technology and user requirements.

With a focus on systems that support MDs advisors and operations the Business Systems Analyst role focuses on maximizing the business value of advisor and operations-supporting applications.

Their efforts center on the optimization of these products to achieve strategic enterprise goals while at the same time maximizing return on investment.

To meet this end the Business Systems Analyst collaborates with business stakeholders to elicit requirements which are coupled with enterprise goals and industry trends into an actionable product roadmap.

You will work very closely with developers and should at minimum understand the technology stack and its implementation processes at a level that supports sound decision making.

They have business and process analysis expertise and will collaborate with end users and other stakeholder groups as well as their team to ensure that feedback is baked into the evolution of the product.

This position works closely with the Technology Product Manager in the planning and direction of the required phases of product feature implementations.

Assessing and aligning to the prioritized product backlog of the most important new features refactoring of existing features and backlogged defects

Monitor industry trends where applicable

Be expert in applicable advisor practices and/or operational processes and seek out opportunities for process improvements that could be facilitated by system enhancements

Coordinate stakeholder input to elicit feedback for product enhancements to bring into the product backlog

Collaborate with stakeholders to break down larger projects into more granular prioritized components that may be released individually

Work with stakeholders and team to articulate business requirements to support development QA and change management activities for new product feature implementation

Coordinate with other delivery teams including but not limited to Release Management PMO Enterprise Architecture Software Development QA Deployment Management Security and Defect Management in the execution of projects or smaller release vehicles

Work closely with the application development and quality assurance team members during all stages of the system development life cycle and bridge the gap between business and technology sides of the solution

Coordinate and assist users during the user acceptance testing cycle where required

Maintain a broad knowledge base of the products that support the MDs business especially those that are advisor- or operations-supporting

A minimum of 7 years of prior relevant experience is necessary to perform this job at an acceptable level

Experience working on large program or project initiatives with technology and/or technology components is required

Prior experience in Financial Services is an asset

Business Analyst / Process Analysis

The Sr. Business Analyst is responsible for research and analysis leading to the definition of requirements and processes to assist in the resolution of complex business problems for the supported Line of Business.

The incumbent is also responsible for participating in the testing of new systems or enhancements training of users and providing ongoing support to all supported units worldwide.

Some of the Key Accountabilities include:

Assist the Senior Manager / Project Manager in resolving highly complex multi-faceted problems to meet the needs of the supported Line of Business by applying financial and technological knowledge to the design of methodologies models and/or systems solutions.

This may involve rapid prototyping with requirements and solutions developed on an iterative basis that provides interim deliverables until a final production solution is created.

This includes conducting research and analysis accurately and clearly defining user requirements and processes and liaising with users.

Participate in the systems implementation process by developing test cases performing testing defining user procedures and workflows developing conversion and implementation strategies verifying conversion providing user documentation providing user training and providing post-implementation support.

Provide business support as well as 7/24 production support on rotation to all global units including new and existing product and deal structuring ad hoc queries and MIS user training and assisting with the design and implementation of systems enhancements.

This is made more challenging due to differences in time zones and variations in business lines.

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that management is kept informed and that problems and issues are escalated appropriately.

Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of the Divisions business strategies and policies risk management practices and methodologies product offerings financial markets financial instruments regulatory requirements Back Office processes and rapidly changing technology to provide effective business solutions and services to end user business lines.

Assist the project manager by supervising up to two junior staff providing backup support to the project manager and assisting with the development of detailed project plans and monitoring progress against planned objectives.

What You Will Bring to Succeed

35 years of progressive Business Analysis experience in a technical environment within a large matrixed organization.

The incumbent must be a creative self-starting results-oriented and highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills to assist in the resolution of complex business problems.

Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with end users and members of a project team.

The incumbent is expected to use diplomacy judgment and persuasion to secure agreement and cooperation from departments involved in a project.

Has a good understanding of current EDP practices systems development techniques including requirements specification and testing methodologies real-time analytical and formal modeling tools and keeps current with rapidly changing technology.

Knowledge of AML solutions is highly desirable.

Experience with Payments and Payment Sanctions Screening tools (preferably SymphonyAI NetReveal HotScan and HotScan/CMT) is highly desirable.

The incumbent must have a thorough knowledge of Payment Messages (MT MX) and how payments flow.
