The Centre for Humanitarian Leadership (CHL) is an award-winning partnership between Save the Children Australia and Deakin University. Established in 2011 as an innovative combination of academic rigour and humanitarian practice CHL supports crisis and humanitarian leaders in more than 90 countries with accredited and non-accredited academic courses in multiple languages. CHL champions humanitarian action that centres the agency of affected communities respects diverse perspectives elevates local actors and furthers social justice.

In this full-time permanent role youll work as a part of our CHL team in Melbourne to help us create lasting change for children everywhere.

The Communications Manager ensures CHLs marketing events and communications are strategic timely and influential driving the Centres mission to strengthen humanitarian leadership and amplify diverse local voices. They will lead the Communications Strategy and collaborate closely with Save the Children Deakin University and partner teams to reach key audiences and elevate CHLs research programs and impact.

You will make a difference by:

• Leading strategic marketing communications and partnerships by shaping CHLs visibility messaging and stakeholder engagement across partner organisations.
• Producing and overseeing highquality content publications and promotional materials ensuring alignment with CHLs strategy programs and brand.
• Driving media engagement and thoughtleadership opportunities translating research and advocacy into accessible influential publicfacing outputs.
• Planning promoting and supporting delivery of major conferences and events collaborating with internal teams and ensuring compliance with relevant procedures and processes.
• Overseeing CHLs digital presenceincluding social media and website managementusing analytics content planning and capabilitybuilding to strengthen reach and impact.
• Managing brand governance reporting workflows and supplier relationships while supporting continuous improvement in CHLs communications and marketing practices.

Ideally you will be:

• Experienced in developing and delivering communications strategies campaigns and highquality written content.
• Skilled in managing WordPress websites and producing engaging social media content across multiple platforms.
• Having a strong background in brand management and ensuring consistency across digital and print channels.
• Having proven capability in planning and executing major events including webinars seminars and conferences.
• A highly organised detailfocused professional with strong humanitarian sector awareness and excellent timemanagement skills.

In addition video editing and experience in Adobe Creative Suite or other design software such as Canva is highly desirable.
