What you will do
As an EMC technician you are responsible for performing EMC testing on new and existing medical devices. Strive to develop and expand EMC labs testing capabilities and able to provide support to project focused EM testing.
- Perform EMC and RF testing on new and existing medical devices in accordance with standard procedures system test plans and project requirements.
- Review product specifications datasheets test plans and pre-evaluation documentation to understand test objectives prior to execution.
- Execute compliance testing to applicable standards (e.g. IECEN 301 489 series FCC CFR 47 Parts 15 & 18 AIM).
- Set up and conduct EMC tests including radiated and conducted emissions radiated immunity ESD and mains-based susceptibility testing (EFT surge etc.).
- Set up operate and troubleshoot EMC lab equipment including antennas spectrum analyzers signal generators RF amplifiers oscilloscopes and related systems.
- Handle track prepare and document test samples to ensure traceability and compliance with quality system requirements.
- Record analyze and document numerical and graphical test data in accordance with quality and operating procedures.
- Collaborate with Product Development and Product Safety teams to coordinate sample logistics testing activities timelines and communication of test status and results.
- Support EMC lab operations including chamber and equipment maintenance calibration qualification SOP development fixture modification and training of team members; provide technical input on test methods and standards interpretation as needed.
What you will need
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three (3) years relevant work experience
Preferred
- Associates degree in electrical engineering
- Medical devices testing experience
- Working knowledge of IEC 60601 family of standards
- Working knowledge of typical EMC and electrical measurement equipment. (Oscilloscope Function Generator Spectrum Analyzer Signal Amplifier Multi-Meter etc.)
