Job Summary

The Service Manager is a sales-focused leadership role responsible for driving service revenue by educating customers on necessary and recommended vehicle services. This position serves as the primary point of contact between customers and the service department ensuring a high-quality customer experience while maximizing service opportunities. The ideal candidate is confident persuasive knowledgeable about automotive services and committed to delivering excellent customer service with a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively sell and promote automotive services by clearly explaining repair and maintenance needs to customers

  • Review vehicle inspections and service recommendations with customers and obtain approval to proceed with work

  • Push forward necessary and preventative maintenance services to improve vehicle safety reliability and longevity

  • Communicate service needs in a clear professional and customer-friendly manner

  • Manage service write-ups estimates and billing accurately and efficiently

  • Work closely with technicians to understand repair needs and timelines

  • Ensure customer satisfaction from service intake through vehicle delivery

  • Handle customer questions concerns and objections confidently and professionally

  • Explain warranty coverage insurance benefits and service plan options when applicable

  • Maintain strong follow-up with customers regarding additional service recommendations

  • Meet or exceed service sales and customer satisfaction goals

  • Maintain a clean organized and professional service environment

Required Qualifications

  • Strong sales mindset with the ability to confidently recommend and close service work

  • Knowledge of automotive vehicles maintenance and repair services

  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Proven customer service experience in an automotive or service-related environment

  • Ability to explain technical information in a way customers can easily understand

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Professional appearance and positive solution-focused attitude

  • Basic computer and service management system experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish preferred)

  • Previous experience as a Service Advisor or Service Manager

  • Experience with service financing options and payment plans

  • Familiarity with insurance claims warranties and extended service contracts
