COREJOB SUMMARY

TheUMMG Staff Physicianprovidesmedical careto patientsbased on proper documentation in themedical record as outlined by the medicalstaffrules and regulations.Theincumbent in this positionreceives patient assignments basedon their educational disciplineexpertiseor experience.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Develops and carriesout a comprehensive medical treatment plan addressing biological psychological andsociocultural domains.

Performs physical assessmentof patientsina logical and respectful manner.

Prescribes medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients.

Gathers essential andaccurateinformation throughthereview of pertinent records and interviews with the patient family members caregiversand other health professionals.

Reports to the responsible physician andcomplies withpolicy co-sig.

Reports hazardous orunsafe conditions equipment malfunction andsupply instrumentation inadequacies toappropriate personnel.

Reports all Quality Assurance (QA) incidencesincluding mediation errorsto responsiblephysicianusing department guidelines.

Assumes responsibility for increasing knowledge andexpertiseby attending continuing educational offerings.

Makes informed decisions about interventions based on patient information and preference up-to-date scientific evidence in the field and clinical judgment.

Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal and state guidelines and regulations.

Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

COREQUALIFICATIONS

Education:

M.D.in relevant field

Certification and Licensing:

Certificationin relevant specialty or field

Experience:

Minimum 3yearsofexperience

Ability tomaintaineffective interpersonal relationships.

Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.

Ability to analyzeorganizeand prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

Ability to work evenings nights andweekendsas necessary.
