Key Responsibilities
- Develop design criteria and produce roadway geometry traffic control plans signing and pavement marking layouts drainage systems and stormwater management solutions.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings specifications and cost estimates for transportation projects.
- Create technical reports tables and graphics in accordance with client requirements and AECOM standards.
- Perform engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Follow and promote AECOM quality assurance procedures.
- Conduct site visits and field investigations to gather data and assess existing project conditions.
- Prepare presentations to communicate technical findings recommendations and constraints.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to meet project scope budget and schedule requirements through responsible and ethical decisionmaking.
- Support AECOM project managers and department managers with project execution.
Qualifications :
Minimum:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline plus four (4) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- Demonstrated experience using Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD) AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or similar highway or transportation design software.
PREFERRED:
- Design experience with VDOT projects
- Experience in civil engineering with an emphasis on Roadway Drainage and Traffic projects
- Ability and willingness to offer mentorship to various levels of staff
- Ability and willingness to operate within a hybrid work schedule environment with hybrid teams
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in any state or ability to obtain PE within 1 year of hire
- Degree accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET
