Operations at the Irvine location include CNC Machining Punch Press Thread Rolling Laser Marking Heat Treating NDT and EDM.
Summary:
The supply chain intern will function within Purchasing Planning and Stockroom duties to learn the operational/tactical aspects of each function perform administrative tasks assist core team members manage projects and tasks as directed.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Under minimal supervision provides clerical and administrative support to the Supply Chain department:
- Assist in administrative tasks including work order generation critical order tracking perform router updates perform weekly WIP quantity verification purchase order filing raw material availability verification PO follow up and invoice/receipts reconciliation.
- Support inventory integrity including cycle counts materials identification organization and logistics activities. Occasional lifting of packages up to 35lbs as part of familiarization with shipping and warehousing activities.
Qualifications:
- Current student pursuing a bachelors or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with a results-driven mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter possessing a high level of integrity.
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite such as Excel Word etc.
- Must be reliable flexible and punctual
- Highly adaptable to working in a fast-paced environment
- U.S. Person or Ability to Obtain Export Authorization.
- Availability to work 30 hours per week during the internship period.
Expectation:
- Within 3 months: understand SC key activities organizational stakeholders and processes as outlined in primary duties.
- > 3 Months: facilitate 1-2 process improvement projects; for example based upon understanding of work order generation establish project plan to reduce tasks duration digitize etc.
- Lead SC NPI processes and stakeholder engagement. Track project from design to completion based upon existing process.
