Civil Service Title- Administrative Transportation Coordinator (M2)
The Division of Bridges seeks to hire an Executive Director for Bridge Repair Bridge Preventive Maintenance and When & Where Units. The selected candidate will have oversight and provide direction for the efficient remedial and emergency repair for preventative maintenance of bridges tunnels and underpasses under NYC DOT and NYC Parks jurisdiction throughout the 5 boroughs. The Executive Director will monitor conformance with all applicable safety standards and oversee the coordination of repair and maintenance activities with federal state and city agencies for the following units:
Bridge Repair: The unit consists of over 100 staff members in various engineering administrative and skilled trade titles (e.g. Bridge Repairer & Riveters Carpenters Masons etc.) that are responsible for performing flag repair work and other required repair work on all City owned bridges throughout the five boroughs.
Preventive Maintenance: This section also consists of over 100 staff members in various engineering administrative and labor titles. The section is responsible for scheduled maintenance work on all city bridges. The unit performs routine and flag work in the areas of snow removal deck sealing expansion joint maintenance chain link repairs guiderail repairs drain cleaning debris removal and grass cutting.
When and Where: This section consists of around 10 staff members in various engineering administrative and labor titles. This section supervises the structural repair work performed by specialty contractors. The selected candidate will monitor contractors general repair contracts for land and marine operations. Manages day and night shift operations and performs other related administrative and managerial duties.
To be considered for this position candidate must be serving permanently in the title or reachable on the civil service list.
Candidate is expected to be available 24/7 to ensure proper response to emergencies and urgent issues.

ADMINISTRATIVE TRANSPORTATION - 10061
Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and five years of satisfactory full-time experience in traffic flow theory; highway capacity analysis; traffic accident analysis; traffic studies; urban transportation planning; geometric design of roadways; planning and design of parking facilities traffic signs and markings or traffic signals; citywide traffic surveillance and control; traffic engineering administration; or an acceptable related field. This experience must have included two years in an administrative capacity managing engineering and technical personnel or a large operations staff; at least two years of the above experience must have been acquired in the United States; or
2. A two-year masters of science or engineering degree (equivalent to 60 graduate credits) in transportation planning traffic engineering or a related area from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time experience as described in 1 above including two years in an administrative capacity managing engineering and technical personnel or a large operations staff; at least two years of the above experience must have been acquired in the United States; or
3. Education and/or experience equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However all candidates must have at least two years of experience in an administrative capacity managing engineering and technical personnel or a large operations staff; at least two years of the required experience must have been acquired in the United States.
