Senior School Leidschenveen (SSL) is looking for a full time Chemistry teacher from August 2026 who in addition can teach Science at KS3. Any candidate who can teach another subject especially Biology to GCSE will be at an advantage. The role will initially be based at Senior School Leidschenveen (SSL) and may require the candidate to work in another campus in the future).

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have strong English national curriculum knowledge a successful track record in teaching science at Key Stage 3 as well as Chemistry up to post-16 level. You should be passionate about developing practically able students and so confident to deliver a wide range of practical demonstrations and class activities. If you have experience of teaching pupils for whom English is not their first language this would be an advantage.

The Role

Science is taught in mixed ability groups in Years 7 and 8 before being taught as the discrete subjects from Year 9. In Years 12 and 13 students have the opportunity to follow Chemistry at either HL or SL level in the IBDP and the subject is a popular choice. At GCSE pupils either follow AQA Trilogy Science or the separate sciences. There are 8 members of the science team including three technicians who all work in a very collaborative and well-resourced environment. All staff and students are issued with a laptop as a part of the schools 1:1 device initiative.
