Assignment:

Working as part of the Summer Administrative team and under the direction of the Elementary and Secondary Summer School Principals one Vice-Principal will support the two Principals with all summer learning programs being offered in the Board. The Vice Principal/SERT will ensure that the Special Education needs for all students in the programs are provided for by the Summer Learning program addition the Summer Vice Principal will oversee the Focus on Youth program.

The Summer Learning Programs Vice Principal position involves program preparation in the spring prior to the commencement of summer school in addition to regular school duties and programs through August. Note that dates and locations are subject to change.

* This position is dependent on Ministry funding and program enrolment.

Qualifications :

  • Certificate of Qualification from the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)
  • Principals Qualifications Part 1
  • Religious Education Part 1
  • Special Education Part 1
Desired Assets:
  • Aspiring Catholic Leadership Part 1 & Part 2
  • Special Education Specialist
  • Religious Education Part 2
  • Participated in System level committees/projects

Major Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation for summer programs including communicating information to schools about the program training staff assisting schools in selecting students meeting the Special Education needs for all students working with schools to arrange classroom space and use of literacy resources ordering needed classroom resources contacting parents (April-June 2026)
  • Prepare and supervise the Grade 7-8 Summer Literacy and Numeracy Program
  • Participation in the selection of staff and students
  • Support the supervision of staff and students for the duration of Summer School
  • Support Focus on Youth recreation assistants Coop teachers and E-learning teachers.
  • Work with staff to communicate student progress to parents and schools
  • Participate in the completion of all necessary budgeting and reporting requirements to the Superintendent of School Effectiveness
  • Assist in coordinating a recreation component of the program with community partners where appropriate
  • Regularly visit all sites
  • Report to the Board of Trustees about the program in Fall of 2026
