Torch Technologies is seeking Software Independent Verification & Validation (IV) Engineers to support the evaluation verification and validation of software used in DoW missile systems radar systems and other mission- and safety-critical platforms. This role focuses on software integrity airworthiness analytical rigor and lifecycle assurance to ensure software compliance with technical safety quality and program requirements. Engineers will collaborate with systems software safety and quality teams to assess software engineering processes products and automation across the system lifecycle. Level of responsibility and technical leadership will align with experience and grade.
As a Software Engineer your duties will include the following but are not limited to:
Perform independent verification and validation (IV&V) of software systems.
Evaluate software compliance with airworthiness safety cybersecurity and quality requirements.
Assess software integrity robustness reliability and risk.
Conduct software analysis of requirements design code and test artifacts.
Review software engineering artifacts for correctness completeness traceability and consistency.
Identify software anomalies risks and non-conformances document findings and support resolution.
Support system reviews certification activities audits and program milestones.
Utilize and/or develop software automation tools to support verification and analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Assists with artifact reviews test analysis and documentation.
Learns DoW processes missile and radar system concepts and applicable standards.
Performs IV&V activities independently on complex systems.
Interfaces directly with program stakeholders and customers.
Drives continuous improvement and technical best practices.
Required Qualifications:
US Citizenship.
Masters degree in computer science a related field or equivalent experience.
8 or more years of applicable experience. Relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Progressively complex software design engineering experience. Experience or academic background in software engineering software analysis IV&V or software assurance
Understanding of software development lifecycles and verification methodologies
Ability to analyze complex technical information and clearly document results
Must have an active secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with DoW missile systems radar systems or other defense platforms.
Familiarity with standards such as DO-178 MIL-STD-882 MIL-STD-498 IEEE software standards or equivalent.
Experience with airworthiness or safety-critical software environments.
Experience with software automation scripting or test frameworks.

Adaptability across multiple programs and technical domains
