Whitmore is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at the Rockwall Texas facility.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise lead and support the maintenance team to ensure safe efficient and timely completion of all maintenance activities.
- Plan schedule and coordinate maintenance activities while effectively communicating timelines and priorities with other departments.
- Ensure reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing preventive maintenance on motors pneumatic systems and production equipment in accordance with diagrams manuals manufacturer instructions and engineering specifications.
- Interpret and apply technical manuals to understand equipment functionality and control systems.
- Assist in the diagnosing of equipment issues during the disassembling of machinery troubleshooting malfunctions and identifying root causes.
- Assist in the repair or replacing of defective or malfunctioning components as needed.
- Conduct testing and run initial production batches to verify proper equipment performance.
- Assist in the adjustment calibration and fine-tuning of machinery to meet optimal operating specifications.
- Identify sources of mechanical issues through observation auditory inspection and the use of precision measuring and testing instruments.
- As a resource evaluate dimensional requirements by inspecting worn components and utilizing measuring tools such as calipers micrometers and gauges.
- Minimize equipment downtime by educating production staff on preventive maintenance practices and monitoring compliance.
- Maintain inventory of equipment parts and supplies by monitoring stock levels anticipating needs placing orders and verifying deliveries.
- Provide technical and mechanical support by responding to maintenance-related questions and requests.
- Prepare maintenance reports by collecting analyzing and summarizing performance data trends and findings.
- Stay current with technical knowledge by reviewing industry publications and maintaining professional networks.
- Ensure continuity across work teams by documenting maintenance actions issues and ongoing needs.
- Train mentor and supervise employees on company policies safety standards regulatory requirements and operating procedures.
- Promote a culture of teamwork accountability and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Essential Skills Education & Experience:
- Minimum 35 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience with at least 12 years in a supervisory or lead role
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical electrical pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Proven experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Ability to diagnose troubleshoot and repair production and facility equipment
- Experience supervising training and scheduling maintenance personnel
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints schematics technical manuals and engineering drawings
- Familiarity with CMMS systems for work orders PM scheduling and maintenance tracking
- Strong understanding of safety regulations including OSHA standards and lockout/tagout procedures
- Experience coordinating maintenance activities with production and operations teams to minimize downtime
- Strong problem-solving decision-making and organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends or on-call as required
