Office of Early Childhood Operations

Job Focus Area

The Education Consultant 1/2/3 is a specialized leadership role within the Office of Early Childhood Operations EC Strategy. This position is at the heart of Louisianas long-term vision to expand high-quality early childhood options by managing the states innovative family child care network model. You will lead efforts to support quality improvement in family homes while developing shared services initiatives that create cost-effective operational models for child care providers statewide.

You will serve as a bridge between high-level policy and grassroots implementation working directly with local leaders providers and national experts to shape the future of kindergarten readiness in Louisiana.

Candidates with the following experience are encouraged to apply:

  • Deep knowledge of family child care settings and the unique challenges of supporting quality improvement in family homes compared to traditional center-based environments.

  • Proven skill in developing communications strategies for recruiting providers and engaging local leaders and national experts to gather critical feedback during program design.

Minimum Qualifications

Five years of experience in education teaching or administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience plus two years of experience in education teaching or administrative services; OR

A bachelors degree plus two years of experience in education teaching or administrative services; OR

An advanced degree plus one year of experience in education teaching or administrative services.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

As an Education Consultant for Early Childhood you will:
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the family child care network pilot including strategy development budgeting and communications.
  • Develops a multi-year strategy to incorporate family child care settings into Louisianas statewide quality rating and improvement system.
  • Partners with local leaders and early childhood providers to strengthen program structures .

Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type:Probational Promotional or Job Appointment.The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office.Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment if selected.
Career Progression: This position does not participates in a Career Progression Group.
Work Schedule:
Work days are Monday - Friday. Work hours will be determined.
Compensation:
The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

Education Consultant 2 (AS-617)

Hourly: $27.07 $46.41

Monthly: $2165.60 $3712.80

Annually: $56306 $96533


Education Consultant 3 (AS-618)
Hourly: $28.97 - $47.27
Monthly: $5021 - $8194
Annually: $60248 - $98322


**Note regarding the advertised pay range: The Education Consultant series has a special entrance rate (SER) of $25.30 hourly $2024 biweekly that is above the minimum hire rate for these positions. The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career and notthe maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
