Job Summary
West Side Academy TeacherWest Springfield High SchoolWest Side Academy is a Therapeutic Day School that is part of West Springfield High School. We are looking for a teacher with experience teaching students with Social Emotional and Behavioral difficulties. The West Side Academy teacher will provide substantially separate instruction in a small-therapeutic setting. Duties:-Plan and deliver differentiated standards-aligned instruction in mathematics to meet individual student needs-Provide individualized and small-group instruction in a therapeutic classroom environment-Use academic assessment data to inform instruction and monitor progress toward IEP goals-Demonstrates experience using de-escalation strategies this bullet-Attend IEP meetings and develop implement and monitor IEPs for students in the program-Implement monitor and adjust instructional and behavioral strategies to support student growth-Provide trauma-informed instruction and support-Maintain a safe structured and predictable classroom environment that promotes academic and social growth-Support students in developing emotional regulation coping skills and social awareness-Monitor implement and contribute to the development of behavior support plans-Consult and collaborate with families/guardians and coordinate with home-based and wraparound service providers-Use PBIS strategies to reinforce positive behavior teach expectations and support skill development-Collaborate with clinical and behavioral staff to implement and monitor behavior support plans-Perform other related duties as assignedQualifications:Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) certification in Moderate Special English Immersion (SEI) : Full-time Mon-Fri 35 hours per week. This position is for 10 months during the school year. Salary: Per Unit A contract (salary range:$52368 - $97192)
