The University of Colorado Denver is seeking a knowledgeable AI Coordinator to ensure responsible integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across campus. The position manages the strategic and practical integration of AI across campus including the recommendations provided by CU Denver AI working groups. Through collaboration with faculty staff and students the position will focus on ethical use tool evaluation policy creation accessibility (WCAG/FERPA) use guidelines data compliance and developing AI-enhanced teaching resources. This position reports to CU Denver OIT but must bridge academic affairs student affairs faculty staff and students to drive innovation while ensuring responsible effective and accessible implementation for improved student outcomes and administrative AI Coordinator will develop and deliver training programs for university faculty staff and students and provide support and consultation services for utilizing AI best practices.
AI Coordinator and Adoption Lead
What you will do:
Training and Support:
Provide training and resources to faculty staff and students on AI best practices.
Serve as the primary point of contact for AI-related inquiries and support requests from faculty staff and students.
Develop and distribute training materials on AI.
Manage a team of student employees to provide virtual training on AI tools.
Collaboration and Advocacy:
Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration by working closely with contacts in the schools colleges and business units
Serve as a central liaison who can report out on cross-campus needs
Manage vendor relationships and pilot programs
Coordinate any technical implementation with campus-specific policies
Participate in campus and university-wide committees and working groups focused on AI
Create and facilitate the CU Denver AI Governance group (as required by APS 6012)
Facilitate CU Denver AI working group.
Compliance Management:
Cultivate partnerships with the Provosts Office academic departments the library other College stakeholders and administrative partners to collaboratively identify needs create and deliver AI support.
Develop support and maintain the universitys AI plan and act as service manager for AI tool(s).
Organize and conduct regular meetings with the AI Governance committee and executive leaders.
Collaborate with the ISS Senior AI Solutions Specialist and Executive Director for AI Strategy & Enablement to stay updated on AI standards and best practices.
Coordinate with ISS Risk and Compliance regarding AI tool approval.
Create an AI tool Inventory and Functionality Review Process.
Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Bachelors degree in information technology computer science instructional design or a related field.
Two years of experience using AI.
Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience in a higher education setting.
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (Canvas).
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Strong interpersonal skills and facilitation of difficult conversations.
Familiarity with AI tools and their application in teaching and learning environments.
Strong understanding of web development and digital content creation.
Excellent communication and training skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
Conditions of Employment
Occasional work during the evening and/or weekends may be required.
This position follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office as needed based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $72589 - $76983
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity experience education specialty and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
