Job Summary

The role

You will be providing effective administrative support to a variety of grant and loan programmes.

You will need to follow defined processes to ensure accurate information and reports are provided to internal and external stakeholders.

You will complete various administrative tasks in order to support customers taking advantage of government schemes.

The team

The services delivery team manage and administer loans and grants for energy saving and low or zero carbon improvements to homes and businesses on behalf of governments local authorities and businesses.

What you will do

  • Check the information provided in grant & loan applications and claims against set criteria including following up on further information with applicants installers and other internal teams as necessary.

  • Contact customers as required via email/letter/telephone to resolve any issues.

  • Maintain good administrative systems to ensure that all filing and key documents are kept in accordance with Energy Saving Trust quality procedures.

  • Maintenance and updating of the relevant databases and spreadsheets.

  • Processing postal applications and other customer information sent to our Edinburgh office.

What you will bring

Essential:

  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Office suite Internet use of databases).

  • Demonstrated ability of working in a team support role.

  • Excellent organisational skills. Ability to prioritise tasks within a demanding environment.

  • A proven track record in delivering excellent customer service.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and written skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail alongside excellent numeric skills.

  • Ability to work to deadlines across a range of tasks.

  • Self-motivation enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

  • An interest in sustainability and renewable energy.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and understanding of energy efficiency and renewable energy.

Apprenticeship:

Successful completion of all training and workplace objectives will lead to an apprenticeship qualification in: Digital Applications SCQF Level 6.

Applications close 23:59 6 March 2026. Skills Assessments are intended to be held week commencing 9 March. The skills assessment will last for one hour. The assessment will take the form of a timed written exercise with a full brief provided in advance and a debrief afterwards.

Interviews are intended to be held weeks commencing 16 and 23 March 2026.

As part of our recruitment process we conduct background checks on all candidates who receive a conditional offer of employment. The nature of the scheme that we are contracted to work on with Scottish Government means that we are required to comply with UK Government standards when carrying out pre-employment checks for new starters. This check is known as the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (or BPSS) check.

The BPSS checks will include a basic criminal record check (DBS check) verification of identity verification of right to work in the UK and your previous 3 years employment history.
