Pastoral Team:
The pastoral team is a key strength of the school and works closely with Heads of Year attendance staff safeguarding leads SEN staff and external agencies. The team supports students with barriers to learning including attendance concerns behavioural challenges mental health difficulties family circumstances and social-emotional needs.
The school is seeking a proactive and highly organised Pastoral Manager to support a year group and contribute to whole-school pastoral systems. You will play a central role in ensuring students are supported effectively behaviour is managed consistently and early intervention is put in place for vulnerable learners.
The role includes monitoring student behaviour and attendance coordinating pastoral interventions supporting reintegration after exclusions liaising with families and contributing to safeguarding and child protection processes. You will also support students on a day-to-day basis helping them to regulate emotions resolve conflict and remain engaged with learning.
You will work closely with teaching staff to ensure pastoral information is communicated effectively and that students receive the right support at the right time. The school is looking for someone who is calm under pressure confident managing sensitive situations and committed to helping young people succeed.
Requirements
Experience working with children or young people in a pastoral behaviour or welfare role
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Ability to build positive relationships with students families and staff
Excellent communication skills including the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally
Strong organisational skills and confidence managing referrals records and action plans
Ability to remain calm firm and supportive in challenging situations
A commitment to inclusion student wellbeing and raising achievement
Confidence working with external agencies and contributing to multi-agency support plans
