Duties/Responsibilities:
Below are theprimary duties and essential functions of an employee in this position. - Lead and manage theNursing and Patient Services Teams ensuring staff are well-trained supported and compliant with all mandatory training requirements.
- Oversee recruitment hiring and retention strategies to build a high-performing team.
- Responsible for performance reviews competency reviews time-off approvals disciplinary actions payroll processes and career development initiatives.
- Develop implement and monitor nursing policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements
- Implement process improvement and education for nursing staff where needed
- Provide education to nursing staff and ensure department compliance with training requirements
- Develop competency of nursing staff to ensure safe and high-quality patient care
- Evaluate staff performance of patient interactions completion of duties and documentation
- Manage adequate nurse staffing plans to meet the needs of the patients
- Provide leadership to the interdisciplinary treatment team to provide nursing input to treatment planning
- Collaborate with psychiatric providers to lead medical staff in providing effective and safe patient care
- Collaborate with hospital leadership to achieve organizational goals and improve patient outcomes
- Serve as the Nurse Administrator for regulatory agencies (example CMS refers to the Nurse Administrator as the Director of Nursing Services).
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Occupational Exposure Risk Classification: The normal work routine involves minimal exposure to blood body fluids or tissues.
- The normal work routine has a minimal ergonomic risk for repetitive motion impairment.
- The position may require a minimal amount of physical exertion (bending lifting twisting) in the work area.
- The position requires the ability to engage with patients who may become violent and to participate in physical patient holds using approved techniques when necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Masters degree in nursing or bachelors degree with extensive education and experience in psychiatric care.
- Experience:Prefer two (2) years in a psychiatric inpatient setting and management experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Certificate or Professional License:
- Active Indiana nursing license in good standing. Psychiatric nursing certification preferred.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) - certification must be obtained after hire and prior to providing direct patient care. This certification must be maintained and kept current through employment.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and First Aid - certification must be obtained after hire and prior to providing direct patient care. This certification must be maintained and kept current through employment.
- Valid drivers license and active auto insurance coverage.
- Satisfactory results from criminaland driving record background checks
- Must be aminimum25years of age.
