DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Specialist Communications & Visibility

Join us and help elevate PAHOs public presence and impact in Peru

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO) is seeking a dynamic creative and missiondriven Communications & Visibility Specialist to lead strategic communication efforts that strengthen public trust enhance institutional visibility and support public health action across Peru.

As a key member of the multidisciplinary team in the PAHO/WHO Country Office the selected candidate will:

  • Design implement and monitor the Country Offices communication strategy ensuring alignment with PAHO/WHO priorities and institutional guidelines.
  • Promote and report on PAHO/WHOs work through compelling narratives success stories press materials and multimedia content across traditional and digital platforms.
  • Provide technical support to the PAHO/WHO Representative and technical teams integrating social communication approaches and strengthening partner engagement.
  • Deliver strategic communication guidance during health emergencies including key message development media monitoring and social listening.
  • Support knowledge management and publications ensuring that content meets institutional quality standards and aligns with organizational processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What is required for this position

Education

A bachelors degree in social communications journalism media studies digital media communication advertising or in any other discipline related to the functions of the position from a recognized university.

Experience

Three years of professional national experience in social communications journalism or public relations.

Languages

Very good knowledge of Spanish with a working knowledge English.

IT Skills

Demonstrated ability to effectively use current technology and software as well as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Other IT skills and knowledge of software programs such as Microsoft Excel Outlook OneDrive PowerPoint Teams SharePoint and Word are considered essential.
Other essential IT skills include website management effective use of social media and knowledge of audiovisual production and graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop Illustrator InDesign Premiere After Effects or equivalent) with the capacity to supervise and provide guidance on the development of communication materials.

Experience in risk crisis and behaviorchange communication.

Ability to supervise the creation of communication products including audiovisual and graphic design.

Duration of Contract

Post of limited duration of one year. First year probationary period.
