As anElectrical Designeryou will be responsible for creating and detailing electrical system layouts schematics and wiring diagrams for equipment or facilities ensuring safety and code compliance. The individual is responsible for selecting components performing load calculations and collaborating with project team. AutoCAD experience is required to ensure drawings are updated for other disciplines and manages the Meridian site drawing system.

- Ability to create an electrical design per project engineers request on assigned projects.
- Proficient in Autocad for creating & revising site drawings.
- Utilizes templates to adhere to site standards.
- Completes electrical designs with minimal assistance.
- Assembles electrical work packages including scope of work and drawings for sufficient bidding work to contractors or for internal maintenance to install the design.
- Provides field guidance for installing design modifications.
- Other duties assigned by Freeport leadership.

You Bring:
- 2 years study (full time equivalent) with degree or working toward 4-year degree minimum focus Electrical Design (Industrial Applications) from an accredited college.
- Detailed Knowledge of electrical codes and requirements including National Electrical Code NFPA IEEE ANSI NEMA and IEC
- Knowledge/Training: Design Requirements for Hazardous Locations specifically Class II locations
- Understanding of Motors and Motor Control Variable Frequency Drives PLC / DCS I/O interface Cable & Conduit Sizing Knowledge and application of protective devices including fuses circuit breakers and motor circuit protectors
- Experience and Familiarity with use of National Electric Code
- Understanding of Arc Flash
- Proficient and able to work independently using Autocad software to develop and revise CAD drawings.
