Job Summary
The RN Nurse Lead provides unit-based leadership in the Labor & Delivery department working collaboratively with the Nurse Manager Director Physicians and staff. This role supervises nursing and ancillary personnel ensuring high-quality cost-effective patient care excellent patient outcomes and the highest standards of safety and satisfaction. The Nurse Lead actively assesses and implements strategies to improve the patient experience and overall unit performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and operational leadership on the unit
- Supervise and direct nursing and ancillary staff
- Ensure patient safety quality outcomes and satisfaction
- Collaborate with leadership and physicians to meet unit goals
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and standards
- Support quality improvement initiatives
Licenses & Certifications
- Active RN License (State of Practice): Required
- BLS (OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS): Required
- ACLS: Required (within 6 months of hire/transfer)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP): Required
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM): Required
Clinical specialty or nursing administration certification: Preferred
