We are expanding our Matrimonial Department and are seeking a highly experienced Matrimonial / Family Law Attorney to join our Brooklyn office. This is a senior-level role for a seasoned litigator who thrives in the courtroom and is confident leading complex matrimonial matters as first chair trial counsel.

The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of high-profile cases mentor support staff and play a key role in shaping litigation strategy while working within a respected and well-resourced legal team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as first chair trial attorney in matrimonial and family law matters
• Lead and manage cases through the full litigation lifecycle in a cost-effective manner
• Draft and review pleadings motions discovery and deposition materials
• Conduct trials hearings and depositions
• Appear in Supreme Court and Family Court in Queens Nassau and Suffolk
• Handle matters involving divorce custody child support and related family law issues
• Manage a substantial caseload while maintaining high-quality client service
• Guide and supervise support staff and assist on other cases as needed
• Organize and track case progress calendars court appearances and client communications

Required Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• 15 years of experience practicing Matrimonial / Family Law
• Proven first chair trial experience
• Admitted to the New York State Bar
• Strong litigation writing and analytical skills
• Excellent organizational multitasking and time-management abilities
• Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Professional client-focused communication style
• Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills
• Experience in a family/divorce clinic judicial internship or clerkship is a plus
• Book of business is advantageous but not required
• Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook; experience with Litify is a plus
