JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE

The Data Quality Specialist Lead will coordinate monitor and mentor Data Quality Specialists and train all program staff on HMIS data entry and report generation (including Housing Specialists and Case Managers). The position requires a combination of administrative and training duties as well as performance of HMIS duties of data entry required monthly reporting periodic reporting to funder and generating reports from HMIS data showing program performance as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Train Data Quality Specialists on entire system train program staff on their data entry responsibilities
  • Monitor performance of Data Quality team and data entry by other program staff
    • Audit and review data entry for accuracy
    • Update Program Manager weekly on Data Quality performance any identified QA/Compliance issues
  • Verifies corrects and enters participant information into centralized database (HMIS); conducts regular audits to assure accuracy of data
  • Monitors database reports to assure consistency with hardcopy records and other logs
  • Runs regular progress reports and other reports as required by Program Manager; creates customized reports to support shelter management and to provided other needed information on request
  • Coordinates with Case Managers and Program staff to ensure HMIS intake requirements are met
  • Supports any technical and reporting issues for program;
    • Assists with program funder audits and monitoring visits;
    • Attends conferences and regular meetings with database contractors and funder reports updates to Program Manager
  • Oversees the privacy/confidentiality notification processes to meet regulatory guidelines
  • Exports HMIS data and upload to Funder as required
  • Other duties as may be required

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Verifies and Audits database entries for Program participants
  • Monitors accuracy of system reports verifies database matches hard copy records.
  • Creates HMIS reports to support Program Manager shelter management and case managers
  • Coordinates with Case Managers and program Staff to ensure data entry is accurate and timely
  • Trains program staff on Data Quality subject matter expert for staff
  • Supports any technical and reporting issues for Program; Assists with program funder audits and monitoring visits; Attends conferences and regular meetings with database contractors and Funder
  • Exports HMIS data and upload to funder as required
  • Oversees the privacy/confidentiality notification processes to meet regulatory guidelines
  • Other duties as required (may be subject to change based on the needs of the organization).
  • Occasionally assist with special events and public functions

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance background check including criminal history personal references employment and education verifications

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-year experience operating/maintaining database

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • U.S. Veteran preferred.
  • Familiarity with HMIS Adsystech and/or Clarity programs
  • Experience working with veterans people in recovery and/or homelessness individuals
  • Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish)
