Financial Accountant

We are recruiting a Financial Accountant to join a high-performing and growing business operating within the construction materials sector. Responsibilities

Preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial accounts in accordance with IFRS with particular focus on:
- Lease accounting (IFRS 16)
- Goodwill and intangible asset treatment
Production of consolidated group accounts including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations
Ownership of statutory accounts preparation and acting as a key point of contact for:
- External auditors
- Internal audit processes
Leading audit preparation ensuring robust documentation controls and timely delivery
Preparation and review of monthly management packs providing clear commentary and variance analysis
Supporting FP&A activities including budgeting forecasting and performance analysis (beneficial but not essential)
Working closely with Management Accountants to:
- Plan workloads
- Set and manage timelines
- Ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality

Contributing to continuous improvement of financial controls processes and reporting standards
Supporting senior finance stakeholders with ad-hoc analysis and projects as required

Qualifications

Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
Strong technical accounting background with demonstrable IFRS experience
Proven experience producing consolidated accounts
Solid understanding of audit requirements and experience managing audit processes
Comfortable working in a fast-paced commercially focused environment
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines
Confident communicator able to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
Experience in manufacturing construction or product-based businesses is advantageous
