Summary of Role & Key Responsibilities

Summary of Role
We are seeking a Consultant to join our Decarbonisation & Climate team and provide the data calculations analyses and associated consultancy which underpin our clients sustainability activity.

You will be based in Italy and working with teams both nationally and in our wider European region. You will have the opportunity to own market-leading projects in areas such as GHG inventory development target setting (SBTs and Net Zero) climate transition plans supply chain management and much more. You will be supported by a large team of experts both locally and across our global analytics teams. Our team prides itself on using innovative new technologies for analytics and data visualisation experience in this area would be beneficial. Experience and knowledge of Climate Risk reporting would also be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

Perform detailed calculations to determine material flows greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental economic and social metrics as may be required
Develop and implement technical solutions to meet client needs (especially GHG-Accounting Science-Based Targets Climate Risk Climate Transition Plans Decarbonisation) drawing on a growing breadth and depth of technical expertise.
You will be writing technical reports drawing on expertise from across the wider team and rest of the business
Attend client meetings where necessary for development of opportunities and project delivery
Manage multiple projects independently with minimal supervision to meet tight deadlines
Learn and develop your technical expertise supported by our technical directors across the sustainability teams as well as mentor more junior analysts including providing training where necessary.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key client contacts. Understands client needs and challenges. Begins to act as a trusted advisor.
Contribute to the development of project plans including defining scope and timelines.
Manage small to medium-sized projects ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery. Proactively identifies and addresses client concerns ensuring client satisfaction.
Maintain a library of case studies methodologies and best practices. Ensure information is readily accessible to the team
Write proposals for new business in collaboration with the existing team - Be independent in engaging with a wide variety of clients often in senior roles within their business

Key Requirements Skills Knowledge & Expertise

Key Requirements

Native speaking Italian and/or English with professional level proficiency in the other language
Solid technical understanding of climate related topics (especially GHG-Accounting Science-Based Targets Climate Risk Climate Transition Plans Decarbonisation Supply Chain/Scope 3 decarbonisation FLAG)
3-5 years experience providing technical carbon management and climate change support and delivering complex analytical projects within different markets.
Excellent analytical skills applying various analytical software. We would expect advanced competency in Microsoft Excel and experience in using other analytics software and visualisation tools will be beneficial
Masters degree in engineering environmental sciences environmental studies or sustainability-related field
Demonstrable communication and consulting skills; particularly an understanding of the sustainability challenges that organisations face in todays climate.
Excellent project management skills: ensuring projects are delivered on time to budget and to client expectations
Broad-minded yet detail-oriented approach

Preferred Requirements

Food & Beverages Manufacturing or Pharmaceutical sector experience preferred
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) climate risk assessment nature and biodiversity risk understanding desirable
Experience working client-side preferred but not essential
International project delivery experience beneficial
