Job Summary
The Senior Solution Architect is responsible for defining and owning solution architectures for complex high-value or non-standard infrastructure opportunities. The role requires advanced architectural judgement including managing technical trade-offs risks and solution positioning to ensure customer value while protecting Vertivs commercial and delivery interests.
The Senior Solution Architect acts as a technical authority within presales provides architectural guidance and contributes to the continuous evolution of Vertivs solution standards and reference architectures.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Architectural Ownership & Decision-Making
- Own end-to-end solution architecture for complex or strategic opportunities
- Evaluate and manage architectural trade-offs (cost resilience scalability time-to-market)
Determine when standard solutions apply and when deviation or escalation is required
- Solution Governance & Quality Assurance
- Review and validate solutions developed by presales engineering
- Ensure architectural integrity across disciplines and interfaces
Reduce post-award redesign scope changes and technical risk
- Advanced Presales & Customer Engagement
- Lead technical workshops and solution discussions with customers
- Support executive-level and strategic customer engagements
Shape customer requirements where appropriate to align with scalable solutions
- Standards Reuse & Scalability
- Contribute to the development and refinement of reference architectures and solution frameworks
- Identify repeatable patterns and opportunities for solution standardization
Provide structured feedback to Product and Engineering teams
- Mentorship & Technical Leadership
- Mentor and guide Solution Architects in architectural thinking and best practices
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical challenges
- Support capability development across the Solution Architecture function
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical degree (Electrical Mechanical or related engineering discipline)
- 10-12 years experience in presales design or solution engineering in infrastructure / data centre environments
- Solid understanding of power cooling and infrastructure system concepts
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Willingness to travel (20%)
