Job Summary

The Department of Neurology at the University of Washington Medical Center is hiring a faculty position to specialize in movement disorders neurology as part of our expanding program in Seattle WA. Our division works closely with Neurosurgery through a mature and busy Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) program and we are recognized as Centers of Excellence for multiple conditions including Huntingtons disease Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia and Spinocerebellar Ataxia.

This position will be expected to demonstrate excellence in patient care community with colleagues eagerness to teach learners across all levels of training and commitment to engagement with the populations we serve through patient education events and support groups. Candidates with an interest in expanding our clinical research portfolio in movement disorders are particularly encouraged to apply.

Primary responsibilities will include outpatient care within the UWMC Montlake Movement Disorders Clinic. Additional clinical opportunities available may include inpatient and consult service coverage general neurology clinics and tele-neurology tailored to the candidates interests and departmental of Washington faculty engage in teaching research and service.

This is a full-time appointment and is a Open rank (without tenure for reasons due to funding). The rank is commensurate with qualification and experience.

Assistant Professors areeligible for multi-yearappointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for this position in this title will be $20215 - $22917 per month ($242580 to $275004 per year) commensurate with experience discipline and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Associate and Full Professorsholdindefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for the Associate Professor title will be $22602 - $25057 ($271224 to $300684 per year) and the base salary range for the Professor title will be $25344 - $28504 per month ($304128 to $342048 per year) commensurate with experience discipline and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Our salaries are benchmarked based on the AAMC scale. Other compensation associated with this position may or may not include Relocation Incentive/Moving Allowance Administrative supplement for a defined administrative role or Productivity Incentive.

The anticipated start date of this appointment is July 1 2026.



Requirements include:

  • M.D. or D.O. or foreign equivalent degree.
  • Must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington.
  • In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H1B visa graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
