Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY:
The Community Ministry Worker coordinates the food services operations for The Salvation Army CFS in Cranbrook BC to aid in the mission delivery of the CFS programs that serve Cranbrook.
Accountabilities:
1) Program
2) Health and Safety
Assist in ensuring client and volunteer safety by maintaining cleanliness and adherence to all health and safety standards.
Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Armys health and safety policies and procedures.
Perform other position related duties.
CRITICAL RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT:
Internal relationships:
Corps Officers Ministry Director supervisor volunteers staff.
External relationships:
Community guests clients donors
MANAGERIAL/TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY:
This position reports directly to the CFS supervisor.
FINANCIAL AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT:
Assist with food materials management such as donations/product flow and distribution of same.
May be trusted with gift cards and/or small cash purchases for kitchen and CFS materials.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is a Regular Full-Time position.
Ability to lift/move on a regular basis up to 40 pounds.
This job requires reaching bending and stooping frequently working in a standing position for long periods of time.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Qualifications and Certifications:
Requires completion of Secondary School Diploma; alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Safe Food Handling Certification preferred.
Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements:
Minimum of two (2) years of prior related experience.
Skills and Capabilities:
Ability to maintain information in confidence and exercise good judgement.
Self-motivated/disciplined.
Lead by example by demonstrating a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and be flexible.
Ability to work independently and participate as an active and responsible team member in a cooperative team environment.

Effective organizational and time management skills.
Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army in its sole discretion (i.e. The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check.
Ability and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $17.85 to $20.64 with a maximum of $24.77.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions internal equity and candidate experience skills and qualifications relevant to the role.
