The Lead Clinical Business Intelligence Architect provides technical and strategic leadership for clinical analytics and external benchmarking across a large integrated academic health system. This role designs governs and advances enterprise business intelligence solutions supporting Vizient performance domains clinical quality safety outcomes utilization and service line performance improvement.
The position partners closely with clinical leadership quality teams and enterprise analytics stakeholders and directly leads a team of data analysts (2 FTEs) ensuring analytics are accurate scalable transparent and trusted.
This position is eligible for remote work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy work arrangements will be reviewed annually and must comply with the remote work program and related policies andemployee travel policy when working at a remote location.
Position Responsibilities
Lead the design development and support of analytics aligned to Vizient performance domains including mortality safety effectiveness efficiency variation in care and patient experience
Provide daytoday technical leadership mentorship and work direction for a team of data analysts (2 FTEs)
Partner with clinical leaders quality teams and service lines to translate clinical and benchmarking data into actionable analytics
Develop standardized dashboards and metrics to support ongoing performance monitoring what if analysis and improvement initiatives
Conduct in-depth analyses to identify performance trends benchmark comparisons and improvement opportunities.
Serve as a subject matter expert on Vizient data methodologies and performance metrics.
Ensure reporting solutions are scalable performant and aligned with enterprise data governance and data quality expectations
Ensure transparency and documentation of metric definitions logic inclusions exclusions and assumptions
Review and validate analytic deliverables to ensure accuracy consistency and adherence to standards
Promote documentation peer review and knowledge sharing across the analytics team
Support onboarding and ongoing development of analytics staff and clinical and operational partners

Education Required
Required Qualifications
5 years of progressive experience in business intelligence analytics or reporting roles including experience leveraging analytical tools in healthcare delivery environments
Advanced analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to evaluate complex multisource data sets
Strong understanding of data warehouse and data modeling concepts including fact/dimension models and semantic layers
Experience designing and supporting enterprise reporting solutions using modern business intelligence platforms
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience working in a healthcare delivery setting with clinical analytics and performance measurement particularly supporting quality outcomes utilization or benchmarking initiatives
Experience supporting Vizient analytics or performance improvement efforts including interpretation of peer comparisons and standardized performance domains
Working knowledge of healthcare delivery workflows and clinical terminology
Advanced experience with enterprise analytics and business intelligence platforms such as Microsoft Power BI Tableau Qlik or similar tools
Advanced SQL expertise including complex query development optimization and performance tuning
Experience partnering with data engineering application and infrastructure teams in a complex healthcare IT environment
Experience working with vendors to define system requirements integration strategies and analytics solutions
Experience providing training education and ongoing support to analytics staff and business partners
