Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Registered Ultrasound Technologist to join a diagnostic imaging team in Long Island City NY. This contract role is ideal for technologists early in their careers who are committed to delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging while ensuring patient safety comfort and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and position patients for ultrasound examinations in accordance with departmental protocols
Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and assist radiologists as needed
Operate adjust clean and perform minor troubleshooting of ultrasound equipment
Ensure patient and staff safety by following electrical equipment and infection-control guidelines
Capture label and transfer ultrasound images to PACS and physician workstations
Maintain ultrasound rooms equipment and adequate supply levels
Assist with exam scheduling answering phones and coordinating patient transport when required
Support onboarding and mentoring of new ultrasound staff
Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all regulatory accreditation and facility standards
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
ARDMS certification (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer RDMS)
BLS certification
Associates Degree in Diagnostic Medical Technology
OR
High School Diploma/GED with completion of an accredited Ultrasound/Sonography program02 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
Proficiency with PACS systems and diagnostic ultrasound equipment
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
Preferred
Experience with GE E9 ultrasound systems
Breast imaging and routine diagnostic ultrasound experience
