Job Summary

The role requires the personnel to work closely with Supply Chain Team to coordinate Break Points for upcoming changes. The Engineer will also be responsible for overlooking Service Parts Process across all commodities (i.e.) coordinate with Product and Plant Manufacturing Engineers to review and improve process for Service parts support with documentation creation to support on time delivery of service parts. Documentation may include but not limited to creating standardized processes work instruction visual aids etc.

General Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and update engineering requests authorizations changes and communication activities.
  • Schedule and conduct regular meetings with engineering team to ensure all metrics are on time and complete.
  • Track and communicate on a regular basis ECR/PCO backlog and progress.
  • Evaluate proper ECR/PCO submittal ensuring internal and external customer compliance.
  • Coordinate with engineering team members and Supply Chain to ensure project requirements and time bound activities are being met.
  • Lead weekly PCO meetings per commodity and maintain PCO check list.
  • Support Engineering Team with setting up QAD following a ECR/PCO.
  • Serve as single point plant contact for engineering related to ECN/ECR/PCO BOM issues and Data Wellness.
  • Leading the audit of Engineering BOMs vs Manufacturing BOM noting significant errors that may result in shortages or cost discrepancies communicating as appropriate and coordinate updating of Engineering BOMs as required through PCO process.
  • Maintaining BOMs to capture engineering changes procurement or supplier changes general updates BOM maturity etc. distribute to the Team and help feed into QAD by providing support as required.

Position Specific Responsibilities

  • Regular oversite of change management practices policies and procedures
  • Create all necessary documents necessary to document and communicate changes as needed
  • Coordinate all activities related to the implementation of engineering changes using PCO checklist
  • Schedule regular meetings for PCOs to ensure all team members critical to the process are kept informed and are completing necessary actions as assigned
  • Help Identify and implement improvements of the engineering change process
  • Primary plant contact for understanding and documenting engineering BOM or build issues on current product
  • Attend meetings to prioritize and track ECR/PCO/ECN progress and closure
  • Weekly reporting on data wellness to help resolve errors
  • Lead BOM audits across all commodities
  • Understanding of IATF requirements
  • Manage Ease for functional audits for Engineering
  • Managing the process for Service Parts for different commodities with the objective of standardizing the process
  • Coordinate scheduling order pull-ahead timing with production whenever needed
  • Make improvements to the engineering change processes reducing and or eliminating quality cost and delivery concerns
  • Assist in training and developing other team members in Change Management as directed by Engineering Manager

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Minimum 3-years experience in Engineering Change Management with preferred background in Engineering.
  • Experience in an Automotive Manufacturing environment preferred
  • Track communicate and recommend solutions on a regular basis for ECR/PCO backlog and progress
  • Lead coordination and communication between plant and engineering
  • Must be able to clearly communicate requirements to other individuals involved in the ECR/PCO process
  • Must be proficient in using QAD to drive engineering changes
  • Must be organized and a self-starter
  • Must have people skills to deal with various department customers
  • Computer proficiency email Word Excel required.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers customers and peers
